British Literature and Composition
First Quarter - Week 3

Monday, September 21 2009
- Reread "The Wanderer," pp. 20-25.
- In telling his missionaries "Do not destroy the pagan temples," Pope
was encouraging them to
integrate as much of the local culture as possible into the Christian
religion. Consider how "The Wanderer," like "The Seafarer" was an effective
conversion
tool. Be attentive to the verse paragraphs. Just as with prose
paragraph, verse paragraphs are indented and signal a change in topic. Check
out "The Wanderer" and
"The Wanderer" Worksheet.
